And a wonderful night it was........

Dear St. Helena Families,

Now that the dust has settled from our Gala evening, Under the Tuscan Sun, I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your enthusiastic support and generosity which made this endeavor the huge success that it was.  Everything we do is for the children and the proceeds of this fundraiser will be used to improve and maintain our current technology program at school.  Now that our expenses have been tabulated, I am pleased to inform you that our profit from the Gala is $60,782!  Our technology program will benefit greatly from the financial success of this yearlong labor of love. 

This event was a success in many ways, not only financially but socially as well.  Despite a snowstorm that left us all wondering if we should cancel or postpone, this Gala not only sold out, but over 95% of our guests braved a long day of shoveling to celebrate with us.  I knew that God was watching over us because there was the most wonderful sunset as our guests arrived at beautiful Blue Bell Country Club.  It was a great evening for all those who attended to enjoy each other’s company. 

I would like to thank Chris Noon and Slippery Band for providing us with fantastic entertainment all night.  I must single out Mike Poole of Slippery Band because he was the best auctioneer that we have had in the history of the Gala!  Grazie!

To the volunteers, our donors, our attendees, and our benefactors, the Home & School Association thanks you for all that you have done to help make this major fundraiser the success that it was.  With the money raised, we will be using it to:

Ø Purchase 50 laptops

Ø Purchase and install ceiling mounted projectors for every classroom

Ø Purchase and install hard wired desktops for every teacher which will allow her/him to use the ceiling mounted projectors directly from her/his desk.  The wiring from the summer of 2009 makes this all possible.

As the snow melts away and we anxiously await the coming of Spring, know that we appreciate all that you do to make St. Helena the blessed community that it is.
