The theme for the contest this year was centered around "The Year of the Priest."

The artists from SHS, along with the volunteers for Art Express,

worked very hard on these projects.

Please stop by school to see the work proudly displayed

in the halls and the cafeteria.

Art Express is an in-class, parent run program designed to stimulate student appreciation for art. Parent volunteers lead projects in their child’s class throughout the year - interactive projects that expose students to the wonders of great artists and art forms and encourage our children to develop their own artistic expression. The year culminates with the Spring Arts Festival when St. Helena’s cafeteria is transformed into an art gallery displaying Art Express class projects.

Parents involved in Art Express have a unique opportunity to share their interest in art and participate in the classroom-learning environment. If you have an appreciation of art and consider it important to your child’s education, please consider volunteering for this wonderful program.

We are looking forward to another successful year of exciting children’s art created by your talented students and engaging classes taught by our wonderful parent volunteers. We sincerely thank all of you for your help and support for Art Express.

If you have any questions about Art Express, please contact Tina DeLuca - thedeluca5@yahoo.com

ART GOES TO SCHOOL

The Art Goes to School Program involves volunteers going into every classroom only 4 mornings a year to discuss reproductions of artworks from a rotating portfolio.  Reference materials about each artist & artwork are provided and NO ART EXPERIENCE is required!  Four pre-scheduled Fridays 8:30am to 12:15

We invite anyone to come and observe our AGTS program - we're always looking for volunteers - the more the merrier!
