2018-2019 Event and Activity Descriptions

Volunteer Opportunities are available for all events. Please feel free to email the contact prior to the event if you are looking to help!

Walk-a-Thon: This is an all-school 3 mile walk around the neighborhood that connects to the school via Yost Rd. This is a fundraising event.  A police escort leads the walk and younger children are paired with prayer partners for safety.  Pre-K students complete a shorter version of the walk in the front school parking lot.  Additional Information:  Parents/family members are welcomed and encouraged to attend and walk with their children.  Sponsor sheets are provided via email so that donations can be made prior to this fundraising event- keep an eye out.

Donuts with Dad:  This is a School fundraiser. Dads and children enjoy donuts, cakes, and beverages together in the cafeteria and Soc/Rec Center before school.

  • Volunteer Opportunities** Prior to:  Set-up of tables etc. Day of:  Greeters, food and beverage servers, clean-up crew (Preferably Moms so that Dads may enjoy the event) Additional Information: No RSVP required, per family cost is paid at the door, children proceed to classrooms at conclusion of event. Backpacks and students belonging are to be dropped off in classroom before arriving in rec. center for the event.

Memorial Day: a school event where we celebrate the lives of Erin, John and Landon with a mass and an outside school ceremony.

Father-Daughter Dance: This event is a School fundraiser An evening of dancing, photos, and fun for all girls PK3-8 and their Father figures.  Additional Information:  Invitations and response cards are sent home from school.  Dress for this event is Sunday best for the girls and a jacket for the Dads.  The cost for this event is per family.

Simple Supper: Fun for all family Members- not a major school fundraiser Community based event that raises funds for a worthy cause that will be identified prior to the event.  Evening begins with Mass and is followed by a Simple Supper of soup and bread which is served in the Soc/Rec Center.  A collection will be taken during supper to support the chosen cause and your donations are greatly appreciated. Additional Information: Please RSVP to this event to ensure that there will be enough soup made. RSVP forms will be sent out in the Wednesday email.  This is a donation event for those in need.

  • Volunteer Opportunities: **Prior to:  set-up, food donation (for soup), water donation, pick up bread During Event:  set-up during Mass, serving soup during supper, collecting donations, Clean-up- Service hours available for 6th and 7th graders.

Santa Shop: This is a Kids event (Parents are welcome) Large School fundraiser. Students purchase Christmas gifts for family and friends in our Rec Center at times designated by grade during the school day.  Most gifts average $2-$8.  Parents can send in cash or check with their students and parents are welcome, but not required, to join younger students as they shop.

Parents “Sip and Shop”:  We hope this to be our Large Parent School fundraiser this year.  This is a night out for parents/adults to purchase gifts for the holidays. All local vendors and tons of handmade gifts.  Adult beverages and appetizers served during event Additional Information: If you have a shop/small business that you would like to have set up a table please contact Colleen Lunsford. We are trying not to duplicate business’ so first come first serve.

Saint Patrick’s Day Bingo: A fun night of Bingo for the entire family! This event takes place in the recreation center on the Friday before Saint Patrick’s Day. Advance reservations are recommended and welcome with walk-ins also accepted.  Pizza and snacks are sold as well. This event is a Large School fundraiser

2019 Parent Social: A fun night out for SHS parents, adult friends are welcomed. Food and adult beverages will be available. 50/50- door prize and maybe a basket raffle or two. Tickets for event will be sold in advance. We hope for this to be a Large School fundraiser.

Teacher Appreciation Day: Teachers give us so much. A boost of confidence when we really need one. Extra help when we’re having trouble. A welcoming presence when everything else seems out of control. And though we know we can’t ever thank them enough, we can take a moment during National Teacher Appreciation Week to share our appreciation for the special educators in our lives.

May Fair: Student Favorite!  Weather permitting, the backlot is transformed into a fair filled with fun, games, and food/treats for the students.  If it rains, The May Fair is held in the Rec Center and Cafeteria.  We recommend that students purchase tickets prior to the event, but they can also purchase them that day.  Funds raised from this event are typically applied to an identified need.  Donations for prizes are an essential element of this event. Donations can be as little as a $5 gift card, game, arts and craft supplies, etc. This is a Large School fundraiser.
