MATH students: To access IXL- type in your username with @sainthelena and password. Then click on learning, math, skill plans, and grade level. At that point, you will see each chapter and lessons per chapter.

Class work and Homework for week of March 30th.

6P MATH

  • If you need one-on-one help, please email me and we can set up a Zoom meeting.  
  • MONDAY: Complete chapter 8 mid-chapter quiz.  See google classroom for attachment. You may have this already. Email me your answers to cdougherty@sainthelenaschool.org.
  • TUESDAY: Look at lesson 1 (Area of Parallelograms) in chapter 9. Read and view examples on pages 661- 664.  Area= base x height.  Complete odds for pages 664-665. Check answers in the back.
  • WEDNESDAY: Complete homework practice sheet for lesson 1. You may use a calculator. Go to connect-ed and print it or write answers on piece of paper. ALL WORK must be shown on worksheet or paper. Email me your answers to the above email address.
  • THURSDAY: Look at lesson 2 (area of triangles  Area = 1/2 bh) on pages 673-676. Look at examples and complete the odds for pages 676-677. Check answers in the back. You may use a calculator. We will zoom on Friday at 2:00 to touch base.
  • FRIDAY:   We will zoom at 2:00 to review lesson 1 and 2.

8TH MATH

  • If you need one-on-one help, please email me and we can set up a Zoom meeting.  
  • MONDAY: Complete “chapter review” for chapter 7.  I will attach link using google classroom.  Please “turn in” the document attached with numbers 1-16 and the answers only. Show me work where you can. Assessment is tomorrow for chapter 7. If you have any further questions, let me know.
  • TUESDAY: Take assessment- see google classroom.  Please print test and show work and answers on sheets and then send back to me via email.  This needs to be completed by 4:00 PM.
  • WEDNESDAY: Go to google classroom for assignment.
  • THURSDAY: Finish problems from above.
  • FRIDAY: ZOOM meeting at 10:45 to check answers from Wednesday and Thursday.

7B MATH

  • If you need one-on-one help, please email me and we can set up a Zoom meeting.  
  • MONDAY: Complete chapter 8 mid-chapter quiz. Go to google classroom for attachment. 
  • TUESDAY: We will Zoom at 11:00 to go over lesson 6 (surface area of prisms) Please log in before 11 so we can start by 11:05. Have your workbook, calculator, pencil, and a CEREAL box with you.  Afterwards, complete the odds on pages 668-669 and check answers in the back.
  • WEDNESDAY: Complete homework practice sheet for lesson 6.  Send me your answers at cdougherty@sainthelenaschool.org.  Please use connect-ed for further help.
  • THURSDAY:  We will zoom at 11:00 to go over lesson 7 (surface area of pyramids). Have our materials ready.  Log on around 10:55.
  • FRIDAY: Complete the odds on pages 680-681 and check answers in the back.

6P RELIGION

  • Do a kind deed.
  • Answer all questions for chapter 11 by Thursday morning. Try to complete a set of questions per day.  I will be checking your progression each day as well. This must be “turned in” to me so I can verify you completed all answers. 
  • We will zoom on Thursday at 2:00.

ELA 8D

  • READ three days per week for 30 minutes. I expect you to finish your book and let me know when you do. I will do check-in’s as well. If you don’t have your book at home, select a new one. 
  • MONDAY: Let’s Zoom at 11:00 to do reading check-in and finish discussing “The Lottery”. Prepare for assessment tomorrow for short story. Go to google classroom for paragraph writing.
  • TUESDAY: Take assessment for short story, “The Lottery”. You should have one more stapled set of papers for short story. Answers questions 1-30 (multiple choice) and use document via google classroom to type your answers. I will also ask a few short answers on document.  Then “turn in”. 
  • WEDNESDAY: Complete vocab pages 66-67 for Unit 4. Complete mug sheet week 26-via google classroom. Complete reflection by Friday- see google classroom.  
  • THURSDAY: Use IXL and work on the following skills for 30 minutes. Spend about 10 minutes on each. Writing Strategies N- active and passive voice; Vocabulary S.1 synonyms; Context Clues W.1.  This will be checked.
  • FRIDAY: Reflection is due. We will zoom on Monday to check vocab pages and mug sheet.
