• Parents, please remember to sign or initial your child’s homework each night.  This tells me you have completed the work with your child. Please remind your child to empty his/her completed and corrected papers from the Home folder each night.
• When sending in money, please be sure to write your child’s name and what the money is for on the envelope.
• Please send exact change for pretzels and hot lunch orders.

1. Religion- Please study the Children’s Suscipe.  Read facts 91-92
2. Math- Lesson 16.3 p. 179-180
3. Reading- Cinco De Mayo Activity in H-Folder: Read and Answer the three questions about Cinco De Mayo
4. May Procession: May Procession is tonight at 7:00pm. If students attend, they do not have to complete their homework.
5. Group Photos are tomorrow, 5/7. Please send children in their Summer Uniform with their gym sneakers! No Gym Uniform tomorrow! Please return group photo envelopes if you plan to purchase the class picture.

2. Handwriting- H copybook- Write 3 sentences from your reading words: Dare to Dream: Week 1. Underline the word that you used.
3. Math- Lesson 16.4 p. 181-182
4. Reading– study the words under Dare to Dream: Week 1. The sight words are listed below on this page.  You will click on a Google link to access them. It is a good idea to make flash cards for these words.

1. No Homework

In addition to your child’s written homework, please read to your child and/or have your child read to you for at least 20 minutes each night. I have included in your child’s Home Folder a Reading log for the month of May. Please fill out each night that you read to earn tickets and prizes!

High Frequency Words
Click here or the link below to access each week’s high frequency words.  It is a good idea to make flash cards of these words.  The children will see these words on their tests.  Recognizing words by sight helps kids become faster, more fluent readers. 

Grade 1 Religion Facts
Click here or the link below to access 1st Grade Religion facts.  Parents, please just read the sentences to your child to remind them what they learned in Religion class. These facts do not need to be memorized.
