Several months ago, Ada Leeds, a Third Grade Student in Mrs. Owsiany’s classroom, felt impelled to write to President Obama regarding her concerns about the environment, climate change, and how it affects our air and animals!  Yesterday, March 30, 2016, to her amazement, she received an envelope from the White House which contained a personal letter from President Obama, thanking her for her concerns.  Of course, this goes along with Pope Francis’ encyclical “Laudato Si”, which deals with global environmental deterioration, and how each person needs to do everything possible for preserve our planet.  President Obama praised Ada’s efforts.  He also expressed that her concern as a young child gives him great hope for our future!

We are all very proud of Ada and her commitment to Care for the Earth!
